Field Trips and Special Days
Sunshine Preschool & Pre-K has many fields trips and special days for students (and sometimes parents!) to participate in. This page gives an overview of what the school year has to offer...
In October we will meet at Carleton Farms .
All siblings are welcome. Please let us know if you are not planning on attending. The children will get to do lots of fun activities and bring home the pumpkin of their choice.
PJ Day
We are having a PJ Party!!!! Everyone is invited to come to school in their “night clothes.”
We are going to make Jimmi’s Mix Together for snack and watch a Fun Video while we snack.
PJ’s are not necessary but are fun!!!
Mitten Day
In January we will be playing with our mittens, If your child has a pair of mittens or gloves, please send them to school on Mitten Day.

We will be working with the story of “The Mitten” by Jan Brett and talking about winter weather.
Please be sure that your child can definitely identify his or her own mittens. (In case of duplicates)
Grocery Store
In May our class will be visiting the Grocery Store.
The tour will take about one hour. The two parent volunteers that signed up will join the class on the tour.

We realize this is different from our normal schedule. If you are having problems with picking up your child early you may want to coordinate some arrangements with another parent.
Bridges Pet Store
In March we are going on a field trip to the pet store.
Sunshine Preschool & Pre-K is going to Bridges Pets in Snohomish to see what kinds of things we can learn about Animals.

The field trip to the pet store will only take about an hour so after we are done with the pet store we will all be heading over to UDDERLY SWEET (in the same shopping center) for some yummy stuff.
Sunnyside Nursery
In April we go to Sunnyside Nursery. Meet at the Nursery on this day. Cost is FREE!

We will be meeting with the Nursery staff and the kids get to learn about Nature and how plants grow, they will get hands on and Plant a flower to take home with them.
Fire Station
The Wonderful Marysville Fire Station 62 brings the Field Trip to us in Feburary. The children will learn from Fireman Dan all about what to do in case of a Fire.
Please take the time to discuss with your preschooler the papers that come home each of the 5 days preceding this field trip.

Graduation

Our Spring Graduation Celebration is your opportunity to hear some of the fun songs your preschooler has been learning and enjoy some Cupcakes with the friends you have made this year! Invite your families and come and have some fun.
Fruit and Veggie Day
In May we will have a “Vegetable Tasting Day” and "Fruit Tasting Day." Please send the requested amount of portions of a vegetable or fruit with your child. If possible, send it in a throw away container.
Absolutely any vegetable or fruit is OK!! Fresh, dried, canned, frozen, etc, is fine. If it is a vegetable or fruit the children aren't familiar with, you might send a picture or a whole vegetable or fruit as a visual aid. (We will return the “whole” vegetable or fruit to you.)
